Computer Applications is one of the most important areas in Science and technology. In appreciation of its growing importance in business and the industrial scenario, the college established a Department of Computer Applications to facilitate research and human development in the subject. Department emphasizes value based quality education in Computer Applications and the curriculum reflects the depth and width of Computer Applications where emphasis is laid on practical understanding of technology .Educational objective of the BCA program is to enable the students to have a holistic and all round grooming, to be a thorough professional in the field of information technology. The students are trained to have a sound foundation in the fundamentals of computer technology and a high level of practical skill in the use of that technology. The purpose of the department is to help the learners to innovate in the areas of Computer Applications, to advance and enhance commercial application and visual application development, to build interest students for specialized research in inventing new data base design and to guide students in building efficient information systems, to create new data base engines, and to create new Query languages.

Apart from this, all Computer maintenance, website maintenance and developmental activities within the campus is overseen and undertaken by the department. Career oriented skill enhancement program is initiated by the students of department of computer science and engineering. The classes regarding programming, aptitude, reasoning, latest trends in technologies etc. are taken by the senior students for their juniors in the programming lab after the college hours to encourage peer learning.
